Application of QR Code for Localization and Navigation of Indoor Mobile Robot

Localization is essential for the autonomous navigation of a mobile robot. Because error internal dead-reckoning localization increases with time, should be corrected periodically using external environmental information. This study presents practical application Quick Response (QR) codes to correct by combining QR code information and encoder values. Each contains its own global coordinates attached as one-dimensional array on vertical, thus walls reducing number required localization. Whenever detected decoded robot, relative transformation between robot can computed pose estimation extended Kalman filter. Experimental results demonstrate performance The influence distance adjacent in environment was also addressed verified experiments.
